Claudette Asgill

Claudette Asgill is the founder and director of the Sarian Foundation. During her first visit to Sierra Leone in 1998, she was moved by the extreme poverty and poor basic healthcare and education. Her decision was to establish the Sarian Foundation, which works with local partners in the rural Northen Province of Sierra Leone to improve healthcare, education and employability.

Claudette takes great pride in working for the Sarian Foundation and is involved in all aspects from fundraising to programme delivery, monitoring and assessment.


Zaneta Arthur
International Director

Zaneta has been a keen supporter of the Sarian Foundation since its inception in 2006. She has a keen interest in public health and has been a senior health commissioner for primary care in the NHS.

In March this year, she took on the role of International Director. In this role Zaneta will be responsible for supporting Sarian in Sierra Leone, working with our local partners in delivering both our core and sustainable programmes.



Jahangir Khan
Business Development and Finance Manager

Jahangir joined the Sarian Foundation on a part-time basis in 2010. A Business graduate of London Metropolitan University, Jahangir is responsible for leading Sarian's sustainable business development agenda and for ensuring that every penny raised is spent wisely.


Salehuddin Ahmed
Fundraising and Events Co-ordinator

Salehuddin has joined the Sarian team to help us develop and drive forward our fundraising strategy. Salehuddin is an experienced recruiter and fundraiser and has recently supported both Global Aid Trust and Human Relief Foundation with their fundraising initiatives.


Philip Murray
ICT Infrastructure and Communications Co-ordinator

Philip joined our team in May 2013 and has made a significant difference to the organisation. Philip is a maths graduate and is highly skilled in IT. He is responsible for ensuring that our website, digital infrastructure and communications are effective and meet the rapidly changing needs of the foundation.
